RHINELANDER, WI (WSAU) - The former Oneida and Forest County Medical Examiner is accused of stealing more body parts. Traci England is already accused of stealing body parts from two victims to train her cadaver dog. Investigators now believe there are two more victims.
Oneida County Assistant District Attorney Scott Moller said other death investigations have been looked into to see if other crimes were committed. He believes there was. In one case, prosecutors have DNA evidence pointing towards an additional crime. In another case, a dog handler tells investigators England distributed cremains to other dog trainers.
In that case the victim's family said they couldn't pay for the cremation services and claim the remains, so England did and distributed the ashes to other dog handlers.
Defense Attorney Joel Hirschhorn believes the statutes are vague and ambiguous. Moller plans to prosecute all four cases aggressively.
Oneida County Judge Patrick O'Melia approved a $2,500 signature bond Tuesday. Both new cases will have preliminary hearings December 7th with Judge Leon Stenz from Forest County.
