STEVENS POINT, WI (WSAU) - A city council meeting Monday night and a Community Development Authority meeting Tuesday should be all that’s needed to clear the final hurdles for redevelopment of Stevens Point’s Centerpoint Marketplace Mall. Both entities will make amendments to reciprocal agreements.... documents that were originally prepared in the 1980’s for the original mall to allow different types of uses, including the use of the former Penney’s wing as the new Midstate Technical College facility.
Director of Community Development Michael Ostrowski says getting these steps completed will allow Midstate to formally acquire the site and begin their work, and allow for the other new developer, Sara Investment Real Estate, to move ahead with the former Dunham’s section in the center of the old mall.
Demolition of the section between the Shopko and the old Dunham’s building is on schedule.
