WAUSAU, Wis (WSAU) The city of Wausau will buy more abandoned and blighted property along the Wisconsin River. This week the city council approved a $300,000 loan to buy the abandoned Save-O Supply land.
The agreement includes an old warehouse that the city will tear down, and a 1.5-acre parking lot.
The sale is scheduled to close on November 15th.
The city has been assembling land along the east side of the river for redevelopment. What will be built in the area still hasn't been decided. Some of the land will be used to expand the riverfront trail. The city now controls 17-acres between Bridge Street and Stewart Avenue.
