MARSHFIELD, WI (WSAU) Some truck traffic in Marshfield will soon be re-routed to prevent traffic signal “knock-downs” at a busy intersection near downtown.

The city will prohibit right turns by trucks from Veterans Parkway onto Maple Street, and direct them to use Vine Avenue instead. That’s according to Director of Public Works Dan Knoeck who says, “We determined that our best first step here is to prohibit this right turning movement for truck.”

That traffic signal had been toppled three times since “quiet zone” medians were installed at the intersection about a year ago.
