MERRILL, WI (WSAU) -  A Wausau firm will design Merrill’s new fire station. City Council Members chose Becher Hoppe at Tuesday night’s meeting. The contract will pay Becher Hoppe $121,615 to design and engineer the new structure and handle all bidding documents. They will also receive an additional $54,652 as the on-site construction manager during completion of the new fire station. Planning and design will take place over the winter with construction to start next spring.
