APPLETON, WI (WSAU) -  Remember the four-year-old boy who was seriously hurt along with seven family members in a traffic accident on Highway 10 near Custer about two weeks ago?  Little Matthew Fleurant was flown from the crash scene to St. Joseph’s Hospital in Marshfield October 7th. The good news is he went home to Appleton Wednesday.

Matthew has a long recovery ahead of him with rods in both legs, and his neck immobilized. He will be getting around in a wheelchair for a while. That’s pretty good when you consider he was in critical condition on a ventilator in the Intensive Care Unit after the crash.

His mother Tracy says they will just take everything one day at a time and get through the many follow-up medical appointments on Matthew’s schedule.
