STEVENS POINT, WI (WSAU) - The Medical College of Wisconsin is expanding, and some of their representatives toured potential central Wisconsin sites Thursday. Richard Katschke is their Associate Vice President of Public Affairs. He said a group of students and faculty members from the Medical College of Wisconsin evaluated sites and amenities in three cities.
Mid-State Technical College Dean Steve Smith says one site under consideration is a part of their present Michigan Avenue building.
The group also visited the University of Wisconsin-Stevens Point, Northcentral Technical College and the Liberty Mutual building in Wausau, and a potential Marshfield site. They’re evaluating sites for classroom instruction, anatomy courses, a clinical simulation center, clinical rotations and faculty offices.
The location of the central Wisconsin campus will be announced in November. Expect the new campus to open in 2015.
