URGENT: Video shows beheading of second American journalist

DUBAI (Reuters) - The Islamic State militant group released a video purporting to show the beheading of U.S. hostage Steven Sotloff, the SITE monitoring service reported on Tuesday. A masked figure in the video also issued a threat against a British hostage, a man the group named as David Haines, and warned governments to back off "this evil alliance of America against the Islamic State", the monitoring service said. WAUSAU, Wis. (WSAU) - Three central Wisconsin officers received the Wausau Livesaving Award last night for their work in rescuing a woman in September.

Wausau officer Jacob Albee, Marathon County lieutenant Mark Wagers, 911 dispatcher Nathan Jones all worked together to help find a 48-year-old woman who was trapped in the Wisconsin River. Chief Jeff Hardel says the woman had unknowingly driven into the river. "The car was sinking, water was rising in the compartment, and she was on the line with 911."

Hardel says Jones was able to keep the woman on the line and calm enough for 8 minutes in order for officers to arrive at Scholfield Park and find the woman in the river. They broke out a window and retrieved her from the car, saving her from drowning.

Hardel says all three officers were able to save a life, and that's not a simple thing. "This award is the highest honor we can give in this community."

All three were presented with the award at the Wausau City Council meeting last night.
