STEVENS Point, Wi (WSAU) U-W Stevens Point will play for its fourth title in five years, when the W-I-A-C women’s soccer tournament opens this afternoon. The Pointers have the third seed this year, and will host La Crosse.
Defending champion Oshkosh also has a first-round contest as the Number-Four seed. The Titans will host River Falls this evening.
The winners of those two games will face top-seeded Whitewater and Number-Two Eau Claire in the semi-finals on Thursday. The title match is set for Saturday. Oshkosh defeated Whitewater in a shootout to win last year’s tournament.
