WAUSAU, Wis. (WSAU) - Officials at Central Wisconsin Airport will have more time prepare for a possible closing of the control tower by the FAA.
FAA officials released a statement today that they'd be putting off any closures of towers until June 15. CWA Operations director Jim Olsen says that's because of pending lawsuits. "They're looking for time to resolve multiple legal challenges."
Groups of airports are filing suit against the FAA saying that closing down traffic control towers because of the sequester goes against FAA guidelines and statutes.
Olsen says the airport and the operations staff are still exploring their options in the pending lawsuits as well.
