WAUSAU, WI (WSAU) -
He asked for it, and he got it. The top official at the Marathon County Sheriff’s Department now has a panel to examine jail staffing and security.
Chief Deputy Sheriff Scott Parks said Tuesday during a press conference about the attack by an inmate on two corrections officers that he would ask for an independent review of jail staffing and procedures. A panel of community members has been named to do that job.
The panel consists of people with law enforcement background, social work, business leaders, and a member of the media.
They are Mount View Care Center Administrator Lori Koeppel, Former Rothschild Police Chief Bill Schremp, business leaders Randy Balk from Intercity State Bank and Paul Jones from Land Art, and General Manager Michael Beck from Daily Herald Media, also known as the Wausau Daily Herald.
