BREAKING NEWS / URGENT: The State Supreme Court upholds Act 10, Voter ID, and the state's domestic partnership registry

MADISON, Wis (WSAU)  - The Wisconsin State Supreme Court upheld Act 10, the state law that limits the collective bargaining rights of state employees. The law from three years ago sparked protests at the state capital and led to the recall attempt against Governor Scott Walker. The court's ruling in favor of Act 10 was 5-2. Stevens Point woman receives award from Attorney General Tuesday

MADISON, WI (WSAU) -  A Stevens Point person received an honor from the Attorney General Tuesday. Jane Benzschawel is the Sexual Assault Victim Services Coordinator at CAP Services

Stevens Point.

Attorney General J.B. Van Hollen recognized Benzschawel for becoming the first community based victim’s advocate to learn the laws and go through the formal complaint process with Wisconsin’s Crime Victim’s Rights Board. She was also instrumental in helping CAP Services create the infrastructure to help victims of sexual assault crimes properly and efficiently.

Benzschawel received a Champion of Victims Rights Award in the State Capitol Rotunda Tuesday.
