UNDATED (WSAU) Police in Minnesota have a new lead in the search for Kira Steger-Trevino. She's the former Wausau-area woman who's presumed to have been murdered by her estranged husband. Kira has been missing for two months, and her body has not been found.
Police are not giving any details about a tip they received. But this weekend they'll be searching along the Mississippi River near the St. Paul airport. Search teams will be at Harriett Island and Hidden Falls Park on Saturday, and at Fort Snelling State Park and Minnehaha Park on Sunday.
Early searches had been in the Minneapolis area closer to Kira's home.
Police found her blood in the basement of her house and in the trunk of the family's car. Jeffrey Trevino is charged with second-degree murder.
Kira grew up in the Wausau area and is a 2001 graduate of D.C. Everest High School.
