Jennings apologizes for Aaron Rodgers remarks

UNDATED (WSAU-Learfield)  Greg Jennings has apologized for saying that Packers’ quarterback Aaron Rodgers puts himself above the team. Jennings, who joined the Minnesota Vikings in the off-season, was talking smack last week when he refused to call his ex-Packer teammate by name, mentioning him simply as his number “12.”

Minnesota coach Leslie Frazier told Jennings last week to lay off that kind of talk – and he should start talking about the Vikings. Yesterday, the veteran receiver said he didn’t remember saying anything negative about Rodgers or the Packers – but he apologized anyway.

Jennings, who won a Super Bowl with the Packers, called Rodgers “phenomenal” and has set the bar high for offenses throughout the N-F-L. Jennings also denied coming to Minnesota just to get back at the Packers, whom he’ll play twice a year. He said Minnesotans are “authentic” and “genuine” people. Jennings said his decision was more than about football.
