WAUSAU, Wis. (WSAU) - Move in day at UW-Marathon County is just a few weeks away, and students should be getting ready for the change in lifestyle.
Residence director Brittany Hook says first things first: if you think you're moving in, make sure you're moving in. "We are full to capacity. So first they should absolutely know they're signed up to live in the residence hall."
The form students sign to live in the dorms includes a questionnaire to help Hook pick a roommate. "General questions that will help me figure out who will go best with who. What time do you go to bed, are going to be around on the weekend?" Those questions help Hook find a nice balance to hook roommates together for the semester.
If you are moving in, you should have the essentials, according to Hook. "Of course our academic stuff, books, computers, that sort of thing." She also suggests bringing the things you feel you'll need living on your own away from your parents, including silverware and flatware for cooking food. Microwaves and refrigerators are allowed in the dorms.
