WESTON, Wis (WSAU) The Weston Village Board approved a dangerous animal ordinance last night. It uses the same language as Wausau's ordinance, which was approved earlier this year. The two communities want to have the same animal control laws so they can share enforcement costs.
The ordinance bans dogs and other animals that are trained to fight, or try to bite people or attack other animals without being provoked.
If the police chief determines an animal is dangerous it would have to be removed from the village limits, or surrendered to the humane society where it would be put down.
