RACINE, Wis. (WSAU-Wheeler News) - A Racine County man will go to court next month on charges of child abuse.

Authorities say 36-year-old Samuel Martin Jr., of Burlington, allegedly punished a young child for cussing at him by shoving a bar of soap into her mouth. The incident knocked two of the child’s teeth out. The girl told police she was in bed and under the covers.

Martin was in court this past Thursday and is out on a one-thousand dollar bond until his September 4 court date.
