(Madison, WI) — Wisconsin advances to the second round of the N-C-A-A volleyball tournament with a four-set victory over Oregon last (Thursday) night in Madison.
Kelli Bates led the Badger backcourt with 18 digs and 13 kills. Freshman Tionna Williams had a season-high eight blocks, as sixth-seeded Wisconsin won its 13th straight match. They haven’t lost since October 17th and will host Iowa State tonight (Friday) in the final match of the Madison sub-regional.
The Cyclones advanced by shutting out Miami of Florida in three sets. Tonight’s winner advances to the Sweet-16, and will play either Florida or Florida State in next weekend’s Austin Regional.
Meanwhile, Marquette opens its N-C-A-A volleyball run tonight (Friday) against Northern Iowa in the Minneapolis sub-regional. That winner will play Jackson State or the host Minnesota tomorrow (Saturday) night.
