RHINELANDER, Wis. (WSAU) -- The Rhinelander School District ended up with two closed elementary schools Friday. That’s because a large number of students were sick.
Pelican School was hit hard with nearly a quarter of the students absent Thursday. Rhinelander administrators closed Pelican School Friday to prevent the spread of the illness.
Crescent Elementary was also hit hard by the bug. Parents of Crescent students had the option of keeping their kids home Friday, and many did.
Rhinelanders schools plan to have both Pelican and Crescent Elementary Schools open as usual Monday, after giving families a longer weekend to get well.
