MILWAUKEE, WI (LEARFIELD-WSAU) Seven Marquette players scored in double figures last night, as the Golden Eagle men pounded Ball State 91-to-53 in Milwaukee.

The Eagles were bulkier inside, and the numbers showed it.  Marquette scored 56 points in the paint and out-rebounded the Cardinals 41-30.  The Eagles were up by 18 at the half.  Ball State got to within 13, but Marquette then had a 17-to-2 run to lead by 28 with 12:40 to play.

Chris Otule had 14 points and four blocked shots, as Marquette had seven players score 10-or-more for the second time this season.  The Golden Eagles shot 54-percent, while their defense forced a season-high 23 turnovers.  Seventeen of those were steals, six by Juan Anderson.

Zavier Turner committed six turnovers, while he led Ball State in scoring with 16 points.  The Cardinals lost their fifth straight and fell to 2-and-6.  Marquette improved to 7-and-4.  They'll play New Mexico on Saturday in Las Vegas. The U-W Green Bay men pulled away in the second half last night to beat Tennessee Tech at home, 76-to-49.  The Phoenix were up by six at the break.  They opened the second half with 27-to-2 run, to take a 31-point advantage with almost nine-and-a-half minutes remaining.

Tennessee Tech scored only one field goal in the first 11 minutes of the second half -- and they committed 10 turnovers during that stretch.

Keifer Sykes scored 17 points for Green Bay, which shot 52-percent from the floor.  Anthony Morse scored nine for Tennessee Tech, which fell to 6-and-7.

Green Bay improved to 7-and-3, and will host Fairfield on Saturday.

Tonight, the Green Bay women will host Purdue.  The Marquette women have a noon contest at home against Oral Roberts.
