UNDATED (WSAU-Wheeler News) State lottery officials now say that a $20,000 winning ticket in Tuesday's huge Mega Millions' drawing was sold in Oakdale. It took awhile to determine that Love's Travel Stop sold the ticket. It was one of eight in Wisconsin that matched four regular numbers plus the Mega Ball.
Tickets sold in California and Georgia split the nation's second-highest lottery jackpot ever. It turned out to be $648-million, about 12-million higher than projected after ticket sales were counted yesterday.
Wisconsin's seven other big winners all get $5,000 each. Two of those winning tickets were sold in Milwaukee. The others were from Brodhead, Delafield, Oregon, West Bend, and Whitewater. All told, Wisconsin had 315,000 winners on Tuesday, as ticket sales went through the roof. About two-thirds of those winners got one-dollar each for matching the Mega Ball.
Meanwhile, nobody won the Powerball jackpot last night, so it goes up to $60-million for Saturday. About 8,500 Wisconsin players won $200 or less.
