MADISON, WI (WTAQ) - In an unusual move, the Wisconsin Assembly passed the proposed two-year state budget without much of a debate. The abrupt vote was 55-42. LA CROSSE, WI  (UWSP)  -  The UW-Stevens Point men's basketball team lost to UW-La Crosse in overtime Saturday afternoon, 67-62. Box ScoreThe Pointers trailed by as many as 10 points in the second half, but Alex Richard (Spring Green, WI/River Valley) scored nine consecutive for UWSP to cut the Eagles' lead to 46-44 with 7:32 left in regulation.With seven seconds left in regulation and the Pointers trailing 54-52, Clayton Heuer (Wisconsin Rapids, WI/Lincoln/UW-Green Bay)grabbed an offensive rebound and laid it in to send the game into overtime tied at 54.La Crosse opened the extra period by scoring seven consecutive points.A fast break layup by DeVon Jackson (Milwaukee/Rufus King/Williston State) with 22 seconds remaining pulled UWSP to within 63-60, but the Eagles hit their free throws down the stretch to seal the win.Richard finished with a career-high 18 points to go along with eight rebounds and Trevor Hass (New London, WI/New London/Augustana (SD)) chipped in 16 points.Lucas Morrissey led the Eagles with 15 points.    It was the Pointers' first overtime game of the season. They played in three overtime games last year.The Pointers return home Wednesday, Feb. 6 for a 7 p.m. tipoff with UW-Oshkosh.
