MADISON, Wis. (WSAU) - Wisconsin agriculture officials are offering some technical assistance grants to farmers.
The program is called Producers First, and it links up farmers with consultants to improve the way they do business. DATCP Spokeswoman Ashley Andre says there's a wide range of available training. "Accounting, marketing, business planning, packaging." Those who qualify for the grant will get $3,000 towards the cost of the consultant fees.
To qualify for the program, farmers will need to fill out a brief web questionnaire to apply and then submit a full grant application if accepted. The deadline to apply for the program is March 31.
