PITTSVILLE, WI (WSAU) -  An attic fire caused extensive damage at a rural Pittsville home early Tuesday. The fire was in the attic at Robert and Debra Kelly’s residence at 6976 Polish Road. The Kelly’s heard the fire above them at about 4:00 a.m., and rushed to get themselves and their pets out of the home.

Fire officials say the blaze started where the woodstove chimney entered the attic space.

American Red Cross officials are assisting the family with temporary quarters.
