LA CROSSE, WI (WTAQ) - Prosecutors in La Crosse expect to file charges Friday against a man arrested for drug possession as soon as he got off an Amtrak train on Tuesday.
Bond was set Wednesday at $25,000 for 25-year-old Rueben Dudenbostel of Boscobel.
Authorities in Portland Oregon said the man looked suspicious as he boarded an Amtrak train in that city. And police had a drug-sniffing dog ready at Dudenbostel’s arrival point.
Officers said the K-9 led them to about seven-and-a-half pounds of marijuana worth around $30,000.
Media reports say Dudenbostel was arrested in Texas last October for drug possession, just a few months after he finished two years of probation for a similar conviction in Grant County.
He faces a possible La Crosse County charge of possessing marijuana with the intent to deliver.
