WASHINGTON, DC (WSAU) The federal government reports exports from Wisconsin were up 4-point-8 percent last year. The total was a little over 23 billion dollars.
Nearly one-third of the exports went to Canada, a little over seven and a half billion dollars’ worth. Mexico was next at 2-point-2 billion and exports to China totaled one and a half billion.
Wisconsin ranks 18th among the export states. Industrial machinery accounted for nearly 32 percent of the export volume in 2012.
There were declines – electrical machinery was off seven percent and shipments of electrical transformers, telecommunications equipment, electric motors and circuit boards were down.
