WAUSAU, Wis (WSAU) The first major event at the new Wausau Curling Center is being held this weekend. 72 teams are in-town for the Wausau Men's Invitational Bonspiel. The event is in its 64th year – but the first at the Wausau Curling Club's new facility.

The tournament runs through Sunday. It's expected to raise about $12,000 for the curling club. It will also be a help to the local economy, as many teams travel from out-of-town and boost local hotels and restaurants.

The Wausau Curling Center is the largest curling-only facility in the U.S. and is expected to host many national and international events in the future.
