STEVENS POINT, WI  (UWSP)  -  UW-Stevens Point junior Dan Sullivan(Elkhorn, WI/Elkhorn) has been named the U.S. Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association (USTFCCCA) Division III National Athlete of the Week. Sullivan followed up his DIII-leading mile last week with another division-leading performance in the 800 meters with a 1:52.29 at the UW-Stevens Point Quad Meet. His time leads DIII despite not having a competitor to seriously challenge him in the race, winning by 3.5 seconds over the runner-up. The DIII-leading 800 comes one week after his 4:08.76 mile performance, another race in which he won big (10 seconds) and wasn't seriously pushed.The Pointers return to action on Feb. 16 with the Eastbay Invite.
