MARYVALE, AZ (WSAU) Ryan Braun plans to say nothing more about the reports that he’s been linked to a former Miami clinic suspected of selling performance-enhancing drugs to Major League players. Braun will report to the Milwaukee Brewers’ Spring Training tomorrow in Arizona – and he’s already told team officials that he will not answer questions from the media about the report.
Braun fired off a statement as soon as the news broke about his reported link to the Miami anti-aging clinic. He said the contact was only to get information for his successful appeal last year of a 50-game drug suspension. Major League Baseball is investigating the clinic, and some national experts and pundits are not buying Braun’s explanation.
Manager Ron Roenicke says he wants to wait for more information to come out. And until then, quote, “I can’t make any comments on things that I know nothing about.” Roenicke said he plans to move as if there’s nothing there. It’s the second straight year that Braun will have distractions at Spring Training. But Roenicke said last year was different, because they knew what the specifics of the allegations were. He says he doesn’t know anything this time.
