PIERCE COUNTY, WI (WTAQ) - The Federal Aviation Administration is going to investigate a rough landing made by a small plane at Red Wing Regional Airport last Friday.
The Pierce County Sheriff’s Department reports the single-engine aircraft was trying to land a little after 9:30 p.m. at the airport in western Wisconsin when its landing gear failed.
Pilot Steve Hiltner and passenger Corey Stever, both from Minnesota, escaped injury.
Witnesses say the plane skidded, coming to a stop in the middle of the runway.
