MARSHFIELD, WI (WSAU) - In Marshfield, eight candidates have announced that they’re running to fill two seats on the district’s school board. Those seats are now held by current president Tim Deets, and long-time school board member Graham Olson, both of whom aren’t seeking re-election.
The field of eight include Juncer, Thomas W. Binder, Paul C. Lang, Amber-Kiggens-Leifheit, Peter Mancl, Christine B. Miller, Scott Kenneth Noble, and Elizabeth Zorn. The field will be narrowed down to four following a February 19th primary. Two winners will be selected from those four in the general election to be held on April 2nd.
One of those running is retired Marshfield attorney Dennis Juncer, who says interest in the race shows the importance of local participation. According to Juncer, “At the local level your influence is much greater, your input can more easily be heard.”
The Marshfield School Board consists of 7 members who are elected for staggered three-year terms.
