Marshfield Middle School renovation: contractor selected

by

MARSHFIELD (WSAU) At their meeting Wednesday night, the Marshfield School Board selected Boson Construction as the general contractor for the renovation of the district’s historic middle school.

Randell Krueger chairs the Buildings and Grounds Committee, and says the fact that Boson is headquartered in Marshfield is a big plus when it comes to managing the day-to-day issues of a major renovation. As general contractor, Boson will be responsible for the entire renovation project, but can subcontract out portions of the project to other firms.

Six construction firms submitted proposals for the project.

The work will take place in three phases over several years, and district officials say they “want to hit the ground running’ with the project since the school is empty for only 60 days each year during the summer. The first phase will start this coming summer, and will involve the replacement of brick, windows, and exterior doors.
