CATCH IT: Miss California, Miss Florida prepare for Saturday’s pageant competition

UNDATED (WKZO) -- Miss California Leah Cecil and Miss Florida Laura McKeeman have moved one step closer to claiming the Miss America title this weekend.

Contestants will compete in three rounds Saturday for the title of Miss America. Last year’s title holder Laura Kaeppeler from Wisconsin will crown the 92nd Miss America at the end of the pageant.

Among the contestants is Allyn Rose of Washington, D.C., who was among the top eight in the 2011 Miss USA pageant.

Rose, 24, has said she will undergo a double mastectomy after the pageant. Her mother died of breast cancer when she was 16 and Rose has learned that she carries the same genetic mutations that will likely lead to early breast cancer.

Check out above Miss California and Miss Florida speaking with Michal Patrick Shiels about their upcoming competition.
