MADISON, WI (WSAU) - Democratic Senator Tim Cullen has postponed unveiling his version of new mining regulations. He had planned to offer an alternative to the Republican bill tomorrow, but now says he won’t release it until next week.

Republicans introduced a bill Wednesday that closely resembles the proposal that died in the last legislative session. That new bill didn't include any input from Cullen's bipartisan mining study committee. Cullen was unhappy with that.

Cullen’s office says drafting his bill has been delayed, pushing the introduction back to Tuesday. He knows his bill by itself has nearly no chance of passing under a Republican controlled Legislature, but he’s hopeful to bring certain issues to the attention of legislators and the public that may be incorporated into a final mining bill.
