GREEN BAY (WSAU) The bitter cold may have contributed to at least one death in Wisconsin.
Green Bay Police found the body of a 38-year-old man yesterday morning just outside his house near the Bay Beach Wildlife Sanctuary. Officials said the man lived alone – and his vehicle was found at an east side Green Bay tavern. Police say they’re trying to figure out what the man did on Sunday night, and how he tried to get home. His name was not immediately released.
Meanwhile folks are waking up to the coldest morning of the winter in the Badger State. It was 23-below in Hayward at 3am, and Kenosha was the state’s warm spot, if you could call it that, at -3. Wind chill factors ranged from the minus-teens in southern Wisconsin to 37-below at Rhinelander.
Forecasters expect this to be the worst morning of the cold spell. Highs should get above zero today in most of Wisconsin, under partly cloudy skies. Tonight’s lows are projected to reach 15-below. And starting tomorrow, highs are forecast to be in the mid-to-upper teens for the rest of the week.
