MADISON, WI (WSAU) - There’s a new sheriff in town. Rhinelander, that is.
Governor Scott Walker appointed Grady Hartman as Sheriff earlier today, replacing Jeff Hoffman, who retired after 38 years in the department.
Walker said Hartman’s experience with local government operations, budget creation, and personnel relations will benefit the office immensely.
Hartman is presently the SWAT team leader and was the youngest person promoted to Sergeant ever in Oneida County. He is also a member of the Rhinelander School Board.
