PORT EDWARDS, WI (WSAU) -  A Nekoosa woman remains hospitalized after her car collided with a semi near Port Edwards Friday. 57-year-old Kathleen M. Esser was a passenger in a car driven by her husband Wayne. The crash happened on Highway 54 just west of Port Road when they struck a semi driven by 51-year-old Gordon Varsho of Vesper. Varsho was backing the trailer into a parking lot from the highway at 6:10 p.m. Wayne Esser was treated and released. Kathleen Esser was flown to St. Joseph’s Hospital with serious injuries. Her condition has not been released. Varsho was not injured.
