STEVENS POINT, WI (WSAU) -  So far, the new owner of a very old business property hasn’t said what he’s going to do with it.

Junction City businessman Wayne Bushman purchased the former Vetter Manufacturing property on Wood Street. He currently operates the nearby Wood Street Rental and Ready Rental in Plover, and is the owner of Bushman Electric Crane and Signs.

Stevens Point Mayor Andrew Halverson confirms that Mr. Bushman is aggressively trying to bring business into the vacant window plant site, and that he has discussed the property with him, but there's nothing to announce at this time.

The former Vetter Manufacturing plant on Wood Street has been vacant since 2002, when SNE Enterprises consolidated operations into its now closed Mosinee facility.

The factory was built in 1909 and the adjacent warehouse was built in 1915. Historians refer to it as Stevens Point’s first industrial park.
