WAUSAU, WI (WSAU) -  An agreement between two Wausau companies will allow a growing brewery to move their product to a larger market.

The Bull Falls Brewery’s co-owner and brewmaster Mike Zamzow says they needed a solution to distribute beer beyond the local area, especially after their expansion project is completed in a few months. “We were approached by Mid Wisconsin Beverage, which is owned by the Wolff family, who has a rich history in beer. Their family owned the original Wausau Brewing Company, and the Wolff family grandparents ran the brewery until they bought out the Pepsi franchise a while back and as you know, now they’re Mid Wisconsin Beverage, and they distribute soft drinks in a twelve-county area.”

Zamzow says the Wolff family shared many common goals and common interests, and it just made sense to work together.

Along with the increased production and the new distribution agreement, Zamzow says it will mean more jobs and increased tourism in Wausau. “What this means for us is growth. This means jobs in the community working at the brewery. This means more people coming to Wausau to see the brewery. I know that we have a lot of people venturing here on weekends to see the facility. We do many tours.”

Construction on the brewery expansion is going well. Zamzow says good fall weather certainly helped. “The foundation is in, and we really had some good weather around Thanksgiving to permit that foundation to go in, so at this juncture, everything is ready. The utilities just completed moving phone lines and Charter lines, power, gas, and all of that other stuff, so the way has been paved. The building is a pre-engineered building. It’s shipping in parts from a facility, and right now it’s in Iowa.”

Once the snowy weather lets up and that shipment arrives in Wausau, assembly of the building will begin. That assembly should start next week and be ready to move into in March.Brewing equipment is shipping April 25th, and should arrive May 1st. Zamzow expects production to begin in June.
