WAUSAU, WI (WSAU) -  The bad snowstorm was good news for outdoor recreation enthusiasts. Marathon County Parks Superintendent Ken Krueger says the new snow has allowed them to reopen Nine Mile County Forest ski and snowshoe trails. The trails are open now, but the Chalet will reopen Friday morning.

The Chalet will not be open to the public Saturday, as it is being used for the Badger State Winter Games.

The 400 Block ice rink in Wausau remains closed until the large puddle of water refreezes.
