UNDATED (WRN)   We’re done with the snow, and now bitterly cold temperatures return to Wisconsin. Accumulations from Wednesday’s snow generally ranged from 5 to 7 inches. The most appears to have been at Coloma in Waushara County, where 9 and a-half inches was reported. A mild warming trend is on tap for the weekend.

Morgan Brooks with the National Weather Service in Sullivan said an arctic cold front is spilling into the state. She said high temperatures are unlikely to get above ten degrees for Thursday. Lingering snow showers are possible.

“Temperatures are going to be the coldest Friday morning, with wind chills in the -20 to -30 range during the morning commute,” said Brooks. “That’s when the Canadian high pressure will be parked right overhead.”

Tod Pritchard with Wisconsin Emergency Management said you’ll want to take precautions. “Don’t just grab a coat and run out the door,” said Pritchard, who advises dressing in layers, making sure to wear gloves and a hat – and covering your face.
