Wily Peralta threw his first-career shutout as the Milwaukee Brewers blanked the Cincinnati Reds, 2-0, in the second of a three-game series at Miller Park.
Peralta (6-9) scattered three hits and four walks and struckout six to go the distance for the first time in his big league career. Peralta had never lasted more than seven innings coming into the game.
Logan Schafer provided the game's only offense with a two-run homer, his first of the season. Ryan Braun returned to the lineup after missing nearly a month with a hand injury and went 1-for-3.
Tony Cingrani (3-1) took his first loss of the season after giving up three hits, including Schafer's homer, over seven frames. Cingrani walked two and struck out 10 in the setback.
The Brewers and Reds play again Wednesday at 12:35pm on AM-550 FM-99.9 WSAU.
