MARSHFIELD, Wis (WSAU) Ministry Health Care will close its substance abuse treatment program in Marshfield in June. At least 40 employees will be laid off.
The cuts are part of system-wide cutbacks that were announced earlier this year by Ministry. They anticipate at least 225 jobs will be eliminated across their system, which includes 15 hospitals and clinics in Wisconsin and one in Minnesota.
The drug treatment center was operated out of St. Joseph's Hospital. Those losing their jobs include doctors, nurses, counselors and support staff. Ministry says the substance abuse program will end later this month.
