TOWN OF MIFFLIN, WI (WTAQ) - Several motorcyclists drove away after a member of their group was hurt in a drunk driving crash, and later died.
40-year-old Tondelaya Bennett of Montfort died Monday at UW Hospital in Madison from injuries she suffered in the crash, which happened on Sunday night in Iowa County in southwest Wisconsin.
Authorities said Bennett was riding on a motorcycle driven by a 36-year-old Montfort man when it crashed off a county road in the town of Mifflin. He was later found and arrested.
Sheriff’s officials are recommending charges of homicide by drunk driving, negligent driving, reckless endangerment, and failing to render aid at a crash scene.
It’s still not known what caused the crash. That’s still under investigation.
