Bucks Hold Final Pre-Draft Workouts

MILWAUKEE, WI (LEARFIELD-WSAU) The Milwaukee Bucks are holding their final pre-draft workouts today and tomorrow.

They’re expected to choose either a point guard or a shooting guard with their top pick in Thursday night’s N-B-A Draft. It’s the 15th pick overall.

Bucks’ general manager John Hammond is no stranger to choosing at that slot. In 2010, he took Larry Sanders – who became a top-quality center for Milwaukee last season. A year ago, Hammond traded down two spots and took forward John Henson with the Number-14 pick. Those players – plus Ersan Ilyasova and Luc Richard Mbah a Moute – provide a solid nucleus for the Bucks’ frontcourt.

Their backcourt is much less certain, with Monta Ellis gone and Brandon Jennings testing the waters as a restricted free agent. Backup guards J-J Redick and Mike Dunleavy could also leave as unrestricted free agents.

Bucks’ scouting director Billy McKinney says there should be a variety of guards available at the 15th spot on Thursday.
