MEDFORD, Wis (WSAU) Criminal charges have been filed against a 17-year-old student at Medford High School in connection with a school threat from last month.
Six days ago police were called to the school because of a threat of violence made in the girls bathroom.
Police now say the suspect, Denarah Kitzman, is being charged with obstructing an officer and bail jumping. Both charges are misdemeanors, but Taylor County prosecutors say she'll be tried as an adult and could face up to 18-months in jail.
After the threat was reported last Thursday police security was increased around the school the following day. More than 3 out of every 4 students at Medford High School stayed home the morning after the threat was revealed.
