MADISON, WI (WTAQ) - The state DNR is delaying public hearings that were set for Tuesday on proposed changes to the state’s endangered and threatened species.
Officials were planning a public hearing in Madison for Tuesday, with video hook-ups in Green Bay, Eau Claire, and Milwaukee. But because of an impending snow-storm, two in-person hearings are planned for later.
One is set for Wednesday afternoon at 4 p.m. in Wausau at the Marathon County Public Library, and the other will take place at five p-m next Monday at the DNR building in Madison.
The DNR is considering the removal of 16 birds, plants, and other animals from the endangered and threatened lists – and to add eight others.
