MADISON, WI (WSAU) Wisconsin football coach Gary Andersen quickly filled an opening on his staff, by hiring Jeff Genyk yesterday as the Badgers’ new special teams and tight ends’ coach. The 52-year-old Genyk held both roles with California during the last three seasons. Before that, he was a head coach at Eastern Michigan for six years.
Wisconsin suddenly had an opening on its staff when Jay Boulware left last week for a job at Oklahoma. Andersen made it clear on Monday that he was not happy with the timing of Boulware’s departure – and he vowed to fill the vacancy before the Badgers open their spring practices on Saturday.
