MADISON, WI (WTAQ) - The Majority Leader of the Wisconsin Senate says public school spending won’t be frozen as the governor has proposed.

Republican Scott Fitzgerald told the Associated Press there is “no doubt at all” education spending will increase next year.

Two Republican senators called for an increase of $150 per pupil over the next two years last week.

Fitzgerald didn’t commit to a specific figure for the increased spending.
