WAUPACA, WI  (WDUX)  -  A Waupaca County cold case from more than two decades ago has finally been solved, with a guilty plea from the chief suspect. Appearing in court Friday, 41-year-old Glendon Gouker entered the plea to a count of first degree sexual assault while concealing identity.

Gouker assaulted a woman at an Iola park in November of 1990, wearing a mask during the attack. The charge carries a maximum penalty of up to 25 years in prison, and state prosecutors indicated they would be seeking the max.

Gouker was extradited to Wisconsin from Oklahoma last month, after investigators got a DNA hit off of evidence that was resubmitted to the state crime lab. He still faces charges in Oklahoma for the alleged sexual assault of a young woman and murder of her 19-year-old boyfriend. Gouker has pleaded not guilty to the homicide and the prosecutor is asking for the death penalty in the case.

Gouker is also still considered a person of interest in a Waupaca County double homicide from 1992, although Waupaca County Chief Deputy Al Kraeger would not comment on the status of that investigation.

No sentencing date is yet set for Gouker on the sexual assault conviction.
